I've sped head-to-head for first under a barrel-rolling bus on fire, and just missed it to take the win. Many people would set-out with the intention of racing and doing well, but when they crash/die and their chances of catching-up dwindle, they start to form into a gang of "wreckers" that are hell-bent on disrupting the race as much as possible, and murdering every racer that comes into their trap.Īs a racer, it was phenominal fun trying to get through these ridiculous blockades at choke-points with buses, RPG-wielding wreckers, wrong-way rammers, etc. The GTAIV "GTA Race" mode was one of the best online multiplayer experiences I've ever had, I'd love to see a game built around this actually - probably set in a dysotopian near future. It was quick to get into and you could play just the modes you wanted with like-minded players.
For me the biggest positive about GTAIV was the multiplayer.
